The Herald Business Forum 2026 (HBF) will be held on Tuesday, September 29, at the Dynasty Hall of The Shilla Seoul.
Marking its 10th edition since its inaugural event in 2017, the Herald Business Forum has been recognized for proactively analyzing key issues across various sectors of the Korean economy and presenting timely solutions.
Under the theme “Beyond Followers, Transitioning to a Leading Economy,” this year’s forum will explore visions and strategies for Korea to move beyond a fast-follower model and emerge as a frontrunner driving technology, industry, and markets—amid an environment reshaped by the AI revolution, global supply chain restructuring, and intensifying industrial competition.
While the Korean economy has achieved remarkable growth as a follower, that approach has now reached its limits. By leveraging its strengths in digital infrastructure, manufacturing data, elite talent, and the semiconductor ecosystem, Korea can seize the initiative in the global AI race, helping shape the global economy and reaffirming a national standing worthy of its 30th anniversary of OECD accession.
We look forward to your keen interest and support as we envision a fundamental transformation for the Korean economy.
Thank you.
